Erica's OB, Dr. Goldee Gross, arrived a minute ago and checked Erica.
She's at 9 + centimeters and Xander's head is as low as it needs to be.
That means: just about time to push. Dr. Gross will check her again in 45 min and see if it's a go.
Fever report. The fever is still being pesky - it's actually up a bit - so that unfortunately means a second round of antibiotics. And that means Xander will need to get a blood culture after he's born. So, we'll work with it.
Getting exciting here . . .
The nurse just brought us this bunny-ears hat for Xander. Another nurse made a bunch of these for the floor.
It's going to be some cuteness.
Erica is dilated to 7cm, a magic number because it marks the last phase before hitting 10cm, which is when the pushing begins.
Contractions continue to be regular and strong.
Erica does have a bit of a fever that the nurse has been watching. It's persistent and high enough that she's going to give Erica a round of antibiotics.
That's the scoop.
